about

The mind can hold past, present and future all at the same time. The memories that stick to us serve to mold us, but can also cage us if we refuse to let go & let be. I never want to live in the past, but also never want to forget where I come from. Getting older is understanding that there's a balance to things that is necessary, and that chasing extremes for the sake of a fleeting high always ruins a good thing. There are beginnings, and endings, and new beginnings. It all just goes on. Sometimes we love, lose, and miss people. Sometimes we think a way, then change the way we think. Sometimes we feel a way, then allow time to change the vibe. Sometimes there are things we want back. Sometimes there are things we leave alone. Sometimes we wonder what could've been. But ultimately we have to focus on what's in front of us & move forward. Hopefully everything's okay. Hopefully everyone's safe. Hopefully everyone gets the happiness they deserve. Hopefully it all works out.

lyrics

Man, I promise,
I am always anxious,
Always wondering if I can really make it,
Then I question if I'm in the world to make it,
Do I have a purpose or am I just perpetrating?,
I got a big ____,
But can't talk to women,
I got some good sense,
But can't stop my spending,
I'm feeling like a rat stuck in the tar of sinning,
And feeling like I'm in a rap star's beginning,
Tell my Mama that my love will go beyond this living,
To be honest,
I don't really think I'm honestly living,
Get a shiver,
When I think of how it could've been different,
Think my liver been know my Mama been concerned with my drinking,
I tell 'em that I'm sober,
But the drugs that they skippin',
Are the ones I get involved with,
I love when I'm trippin',
And I love it when I feel like I can touch God's ceiling,
But I hate the way I feel like I can't touch God's feelings,
(So I'm)

Rolling on this road with no guide,
Hands up,
Thinking, "what a hell of a ride,"
Left my love on her lips,
And my soul in her eyes,
When you see her,
You just see another way that I've died,
But it's - you know,
Big boys don't cry,
And it's - you know,
Love still on my side,
Don't you say that you miss me,
When we meet next time,
You already knew the future,
When you passed on mine,
(Damn)

Lil' story from my B-More time,
Was off course,
But of course,
She couldn't be more fine,
Girl in question was a blessing,
Who knew Angelou's rise,
On my Mom, could take her son,
And show him real sunshine,
And we,
Would play the same game every time,
She'd say, "you funny, but a dummy, you should work on your mind,"
I'd say, "I'm smarter than you, I can find the joke every time,"
She'd say, "I did the same thing, I just sat next to mine,"
And ooh,
Gotta love the quick-wit kind,
But under surface,
How I heard it, is I'm stunting my prime,
If I worry way too early about handling dimes,
I just might miss the point that the wealthiest find,
And she,
Told me I'd be worth it in time,
If I focus like the Ford that my ex used to drive,
I can make it out the blue, and see the green on my side,
Or even look back in the mirror with the love that I hide,
(While I'm)

Rolling on this road with no guide,
Hands up,
Thinking, "what a hell of a ride,"
Left my love on her lips,
And my soul in her eyes,
When you see her,
You just see another way that I've died,
But it's - you know,
Big boys don't cry,
And it's - you know,
Love my still on my side,
Don't you say that you miss me,
When we meet next time,
You already knew the future,
When you passed on mine,
(Right?)
